When it comes to me and my music, I started with a guitar and the love for creating music from it. For the past year I have been taking a alternate path when creating music because I can not get or preform all the sounds I want from just a guitar. I bought a Launchpad-S last year and have been so fixated on sound, sound manipulation and learning how to preform live as a one man band that my guitar playing has taken a back seat to the whole way I create music. This picture an interpretation of what I have been debating on and feeling toward myself as an artist and musician with how I create music. On one hand I am a guitarist who loves to get lost in the frets and free-styles and on the other hand I am infatuated with learning the seemingly limitless ways I can preform all the sounds and beats I want at once with the Launchpad-S... It's a strange place right now, but I know that my two conflicting sides will learn how to collaborate, harmonize and preform with each other once I learn how to fully use this technology that is still new to me.
When I heard this song for the first time ( "La La La" by Naughty Boy Feat. Sam Smith) for the first time yesterday and almost immediately started composing my first remix. The original is a damn good song with great lyrics and great singing. If you have not heard of Naughty Boy you should go and check out the rest of his music. He collaborates with a lot of well known artists and all of what I have heard of his, so far, is really good. I only used the lyrics (acapella) from his song and wrote the rest to create this Remix... I hope you enjoy this and thanks for lending me your ears. Jam on.
I'm really excited about this song. This song was one of the most fun and most challenging to create. I kept coming up with different ideas and feelings that I had to include and figure out how to include in this "The right way" according to my insane logic. Even thought it has a lot of different sounds, change-ups and effects, this song doesn't (well to me) sound "Too busy" or crammed together. Everything flows well with everything else. the voice is Terence McKenna. I hope y'all enjoy and thanks for lending me your ears. Jam on!
